Kenneth E. Wernert, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 42 years to Jeanette (nee Pierce); loving father to Michelle (Josh) Mattson, Kelley (Stacy) Krainiak, Stacey Wernert and Michael (Amy) Wernert; devoted son of the late Edward and Betty Lou Wernert, dear brother of Donna (Steve) Newton, William (Henrique) Wernert and John (Pamela) Wernert; cherished Boompa of Avery, Benjamin, Brady and Skylar; caring uncle, cousin and friend to many. A retired school teacher from Hoffman Estates High School District 211 for 35 years and a former teacher from Harper College for 29 years. Kenneth will always be remembered for his love of teaching chemistry, being a handy man and all things Disney.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home 17W201 Roosevelt Road Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. A memorial service Friday, December 29, 2017 11:00 am at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home. Inurnment at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
