Cassandra
“Cassie” Van Duys, 78, of Crystal Lake passed away on
Monday, November 30, 2020. She was born in Chicago on
November 13, 1942 to Sylvester and Edna Jendrzejczak.
Cassie
was devoted to her career at District 211 in the main
office. She made many friends over the
years. She enjoyed crocheting and cross
stitching, puzzles and cooking. Her family meant
the world to her and was looking forward to a meeting her
new great grandbaby. Most of all, she was a
loving wife to Richard for 58 years.
Besides
Richard, she will be greatly missed by her children, Michael
(Pat), Patricia (Scott) Costa and William (Christine);
grandchildren, Kaleigh (Matthew) Annis, Courtney Costa,
Amanda and Nathan Van Duys, and Christie Reveland. She
is further survived by her siblings, Bruce (Denise)
Richardson and Peggy (Rich Politowicz) Thompson.
Cassie
was preceded in death by her mom, Edna Richardson;
granddaughter, Angela; and her great granddaughter,
Abigail.
A
memorial service will be announced at a late date when we
are able to gather again.
In
lieu of flowers, memorials in Cassie’s name can be made to
Breast Cancer Society.
Another
of "our HEHS gang" passed away this morning losing her
COVID-19 battle. Cassie was thought to be improving
but it was not the case. Dick called to tell that she
succumbed to the virus at 1:30am. She will be cremated
and a memorial will be held at a later date.
