STERLING, IL – Dr. Wil Booker, 66 of Sterling died Saturday January 19, 2013 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born on January 5, 1947 in Springfield, IL the son of Alvin and Cora (Stewart) Booker. He married Mary Franklin on March 18, 1967 in Normal, IL.

Wil was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend with a wonderful sense of humor, love of nature, and a life long passion for education. He will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he touched.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; his daughter Michelle Booker of Sterling; his son, Jason Booker of Chicago; and his mother Cora Jiles of Columbia, SC.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his brother Terry Booker.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life will take place on Friday January 25, 2013 from 5-7 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling, IL
